ABOUT NETHERLANDS TAXI SERVICES…
Dutch taxi services are available in major cities throughout Holland. Independent taxi drivers typically provide transport through a large regional taxi company. In this case, the company and the driver share the revenue. The driver can also operate independently at other times.
Taxis cannot be hailed on the street in Holland since taxis are not allowed to stop for pickups at random locations. Rather, a pickup request can be made to a taxi company (by phone or app) or, in the case of larger cities, there are taxi stands with waiting taxis.
In The Hague, there are taxi stands at the main train stations (Den Haag Centraal and Den Haag HollandSpoor), in the city center (at the Binnenhof and on Jan Hendrikstraat around the corner from the Grote Markt) as well as at the beach in Scheveningen.
In Rotterdam, taxi stands can be found at the main train stations (Rotterdam Centraal and Zuidplein), key tram stops (including Blaak and Beurs) and various locations in the city center. Rotterdam also offers a Watertaxi service.
In the Amsterdam city center, there are several taxi stand locations.
Ride-sharing company Uber operates in most cities in the Netherlands.
