Top 10 Destinations for Dutch Vacations
Germany took the number one position from France of top destinations for Dutch vacations in 2023. See which countries round out the top 10 here…
The national statistics bureau CBS has reported that the Dutch took a total of 37.6 million holidays in 2023. Nearly 45% of these holidays were taken within the Netherlands, while 55% were taken abroad.
Germany and France were virtually tied for top summer holiday destination country with Dutch vacationers (2.107M vs 2.096M). But when it came to winter, our neighbor to the east was far more popular, taking the top spot with 1.449M Dutch holidays while France was only the 5th most popular (.819M Dutch holidays).
That put Germany (3.6 million Dutch holidays) well ahead of France (2.9 million Dutch holidays) as top destinations for Dutch vacations for the full year. The remaining top 10 destination countries were all within Europe (see below).
The United States was the number 1 holiday destination country outside of Europe for Dutch vacationers.
