Busiest Dutch Train Stations
There are over 400 train stations across the Netherlands. Find out which have the highest daily passenger traffic (spoiler alert, #1 is not Amsterdam Central).
Nederlandse Spoorwegen (NS) which operates train service in the Netherlands recently released daily passenger traffic data for each of the 400 Dutch railway stations. Despite being the most well-known train station in the Netherlands, it turns out Amsterdam Centraal was not the busiest station in the country (although it was a close second).

- Utrecht Central: 194,400 passengers
- Amsterdam Central: 192,200 passengers
- Rotterdam Central: 96,700 passengers
- Schiphol Airport: 92,200 passengers
- Den Haag Central (The Hague): 91,400 passengers
- Leiden Central: 79,400 passengers
- Eindhoven Central: 65,500 passengers
- Amsterdam Zuid: 60,800 passengers
- Amsterdam Sloterdijk: 58,800 passengers
- Den Bosch: 47,300 passengers
- Nijmegen: 45,400 passengers
- Arnhem Central: 43,700 passengers
- Amersfoort: 43,700 passengers
- Haarlem: 42,000 passengers
- Zwolle: 41,100 passengers
Based on the NS train traffic report (2018 data), on average, a total of 650,000 passengers travel by train each day in the Netherlands.
